ACTIVITIES/ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR 2004
-2005:
- Established the wearing of and continual distribution
of green awareness ribbons to memorialize the children from
our communities who have lost their lives to violence and
as a commitment to protect the one who are still here
- Coordinated bi-weekly planning meetings and several community
meetings
- Received formal recognition from the School District of
Philadelphia, Philadelphia Town Watch, and Principal of
Overbrook HS
- July 17, 2004: hosted the Peace In The Hood: UMOJA PHILLY
STARS B-BALL & TALENT COMPETITION in conjunction with
Charlie Mack Party4Peace Celebrity Weekend at the Myers
Recreation Center
- Coordinated prayer vigil and community greet & welcome
for Overbrook students before school on September 8th, first
full day of school
- Coordinated PEACE IN THE HOOD BACK-TO-SCHOOL COOK-OUT
for 2,000 students of Overbrook High School and community
